Inclement Weather Policy
The church office will endeavor to be open during inclement weather, but conditions may require we come in later in the mornings. Please call ahead (402-296-2832).
If the Public Schools cancel their evening programs, the Pastor will make the determination whether or not to cancel that night’s scheduled church-wide event. He will inform parents about Confirmation. Other day or evening activities are at the discretion of the leaders of those activities, and those leaders need to inform their members of their decisions.
First Lutheran Church places a high priority on gathering together for worship each weekend. We have rarely canceled worship due to inclement weather. Like the school system, the pastor will assess conditions around the church and the safety of our parking lots. If we cannot assure reasonably safe conditions for people to park, enter and exit our facilities, we will cancel services and/or postpone activities. For Sunday worship, a decision will be made by 6:30 a.m.
Once a decision has been made it will be communicated on the First Lutheran Website and Facebook page & Local News Channels, KETV, Channel 7 & WOWT Channel 6.
