Devotional Resources

This customizable family devotions calendar was designed by LCMS Family Ministry to help families spend time together in the Word and in prayer.

Each month focuses on different Scripture memory work. Each day of the week also has its own particular focus; for example, on Mondays, pray the Lord’s Prayer and learn the creeds, on Tuesday practice reciting the Ten Commandments, and so on.

First Lutheran Church is dedicated to equipping individuals and families with the resources and tools they need to lead devotions, pray together, be in the Word of God on a daily basis, and share spiritual conversations with others. The First Lutheran library has several print resources available - look for the section titled "Devotional Resources" in the library (back of Sanctuary).

Here are a few that can be accessed digitally:

Daily Devotions Archive - Lutheran Hour Ministries

Portals of Prayer - A Daily Devotional for all (a subscription is required)

The Daily Bite | The Gospel in a Nutshell

The Coffee Hour - The Family Altar - KFUO Radio

Family Devotions — All — Resources (devotional resource landing page for Concordia Center for the Family)

On Sunday mornings at 9:00am (September-May), these resources and many others are modeled as all ages gather together for a 5 minute devotion. Included in this time is a simple liturgy that families can use together in the home. The current liturgy, based on Daily Prayer - Morning from The Lutheran Service Book, can be accessed here: MORNING PRAYER SERVICE - Epiphany 2026
